Working at Kids Duo

While Working with Kids Duo, instructors can make the most of their time in Japan with a strong salary and ample vacation time. Some instructors choose to pursue a career with Kids Duo, but instructors who return home will benefit from the valuable skills and experience they received working in Japan. Living and working in Japan can be a rewarding experience, but it's not for everyone. Applicants must be ready for the challenge of living abroad and adapting to a new culture. If you're ready to take on this challenge and you have the necessary qualifications, we want to hear from you.

Life at Kids Duo

Kids Duo teachers work with their school's Japanese staff, head office staff, and other Kids Duo teachers to assess the needs of their students and provide them with the best possible lessons. Most Kids Duo students are children ages 3-12, and teachers conduct lessons for both kindergarten and elementary students. Classes emphasize practical language, and teachers conduct their classes completely in English. Kids Duo teachers generally work five days a week. A shift at Kids Duo is nine hours, which includes a one-hour break. While Kids Duo has a set curriculum, instructors use their creativity to prepare fun and interesting classes that best suit their students.

We would like our teachers to see themselves as the representatives of their respective countries and act accordingly in a fun and professional manner at all times. An instructor's perspective... "Working for Kids Duo is about achieving your full potential as a constructive and creative instructor."

Training and Support

Our goal is to take enthusiastic, energetic and creative people and help them build the skills they need to be great instructors. For many Kids Duo teachers working with Kids Duo is their first teaching job. All new instructors receive initial training to learn the Kids Duo method, and on-job-training in a classroom to build practical experience. When settled at their schools, teachers can receive support from trainers and a community of Kids Duo instructors. Teachers use a detailed curriculum developed by Kids Duo Curriculum team. Kids Duo teachers are also provided with additional resources such as supplemental lesson plans, worksheets, CDs and so on. There is continuous training through workshops and seminars that allow instructors to bounce ideas off of each other and seek, or provide, advice on various topics.

Teaching Kids

We believe that students learn the most when they are having fun and this is especially true with kids. In each program, Kids Duo instructors help children reach English-language goals through games, songs, and other activities. These classes also give instructors the best opportunity to express their creativity. Kids Duo instructors can have a profound impact on how kids in Japan perceive learning English and cultural interaction for the rest of their lives.
